Zoe sky jordan

This mid-tempo rocker delivers an unsettling truth that the battle for equality is far from being won.

Zoe Sky Jordan’s first full-length album, Selfish is about female-stereotypes. It tackles jealousy, ambition, aging and emotional labour with humour and unnerving poignancy. The album's emotional centrepiece is the title track Selfish which was inspired by her mother's experience in the music industry 30 years ago.

This mid-tempo rocker delivers an unsettling truth that the battle for equality is far from being won. Selfish was influenced by the angsty female the singer-songwriter's Zoe grew up with in the early aught's (Shawn Colvin, Meredith Brooks, Emily Haines and Alanis Morrisette). By calling the album Selfish Zoe aim's is to elicit an immediate reaction from you and then challenge it.
